I found this over the weekend but when I clicked on "kid's club" it kept directing me to a local store finder (they're all over here in NC).
Anyhoo, I sent a long e-mail message and I got a nice response today (closed for the holidays I guess). Click on the link and locate your favorite Ace Hardware location - call them and confirm that they participate in this promo - Have Dad or Grandpa take the birthday kid to Ace and get their free goodie (tell Dad to pick up any supplies he needs at the same time for all those honey-do projects around the house, lol).
