Firey Cajun Shrimp...I found one of my fav recipes!!!
I am making this for dinner tonight!! It was in one of my cookbooks that has been packed away. I will cut the recipe down since it is only two of us tonight...blue laughing
2 cups melted butter
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup ground black pepper
1 tsp. ground rosemary
2 teaspoons hot sauce
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons salt
5 pounds unpeeled shrimp (use the largest shrimp you can get)
2 thinly sliced lemons
Mix all ingredients but shrimp and lemon slices in melted butter. Put half the shrimp in a pan (9- by 13- by 2-inch baking pan), pour half the sauce mixture over the shrimp. Put half the lemon slices on top. Place the rest of the shrimp, sauce and lemon slices on top of first layer.
Bake uncovered at 400° F. for 20 minutes, stirring twice.
Pour sauce into individual serving bowls; serve with French bread for dipping.
I added some red pepper flakes for extra fire...it was delicious. If you have extra sauce it keeps in the fridge for a couple weeks and you can use it over chicken or other fish or seafood.
Bumping for cooler temps...
We had this for lunch today on this blustery day. All warm now.
Thanks, Mary. . .cooler weather may be called for prior to workin' up a sweat with this tasty dish!
