Default Stuff in a Jar (Gift recipes)

I would have SWORN that we had an "in a jar" thread, but I can't find it. These jar recipes make great, fairly inexpensive gifts for co-workers and others.

MINT HOT CHOCOLATE MIX
Ingredients

2 cups Rich Chocolate Flavor NESTL… CARNATION Hot Cocoa Mix10 stick packs Peppermint Mocha Flavor NESCAF… Instant Coffee Beverage

Instructions

PLACE cocoa mix and coffee granules in food processor or blender; cover. Process until ingredients are combined. Store in airtight container.

Print these instructions and affix to the jar:

TO MAKE ONE SERVING: Place 3 tablespoons Minty Mocha in mug; stir in 1 cup hot milk or water. Serve immediately.

Peaches and Cream Bath Salts In A Jar

Ingredients

12 tall jelly (12-ounce) canning jars with lid and rings

2 Cartons of epsom salts, 4 pound (approximately 16 cups)

4 Pounds sea salt or kosher salt (approximately 6 cups)

12 Drops peach essential oil

12 Drops orange food color

1/2 Teaspoon liquid glycerin, divided

Instructions

Wash, rinse and dry canning jars.

Empty one carton Epsom Salts into large mixing bowl or batter bowl. Add 3 cups sea salt, stir well. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon glycerin and 6 to 8 drops essential oil. Mix well.

In a second large mixing bowl, empty one carton Epsom Salts, and add 3 cups sea salt. Stir well. Add 1/4 teaspoon glycerin, 6 to 8 drops essential oil, and food color. Stir until completely blended. Color should be even.

Tip: use a heavy-duty stand mixer (such as Kitchenaid-brand) to mix bath salts easily. Set mixer to lowest setting and mix until color is even--but don't try this with hand mixers or smaller stand mixers or you'll wind up scrubbing the floor!

Holding canning jars at an angle, layer salts in jars, alternating white and colored mixtures.

Decorative canning jar lids add presentation punch for a small price! Try red or green gingham lids for Candy Cane Bath Salts, while Peach lids add a designer touch to Peaches 'n Cream Bath Salts. Find decorative canning jar lids in the canning section of the supermarket.

This recipe makes 12 12-ounce gift jars, plus a bonus of 3 to 4 cups extra bath salts. You can ackage them in small plastic zipper craft bags for stocking stuffers.

Default Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub

Ingredients

2-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 Tbsp Lemon Juice (or lemon essential oil...or other favorite essential oil, such as Lavender)

Directions

Mix the sugar with the olive oil, then add in the lemon juice or essential oils. This will make enough scrub to fill a 12oz. Mason Jar & and you'll have enough left over to clean your hands afterwards too!

Mix really well until a gritty paste forms and spoon into a themason jar (make sure it has a viable lid that seals).

If the mixture sits for a while, you may need to remix it prior to using, as the sugar may settle. A tiny bit is all you need and it leaves your skin extra soft and smooth.

Default Irish Mocha Coffee

This sounded fun, especially this time of year, but I couldn't copy it to share here.

Default Chocolate Martini Bath Scrub

Haven't tried this one, but I understand that it leaves your skin feeling super soft for hours, and fills your shower with a light chocolate smell as you lather it on!

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 cute jar/container
- 1 cup raw sugar
- 1 cup epsom salt
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 tsp. cocoa powder

DIRECTIONS:

Just mix all ingredients in a bowl until well blended, then put in jar/container of your choice. That's it!

It will keep forever if kept in a sealed container.
