Kellogg Recalls 28 Million boxes of cereal
Quote:
Kellogg cereals including Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks are being recalled after an “off-flavor and smell” was discovered coming from the linings of certain boxes.
The recalled boxes of Kellogg (Stock Quote: K) cereals were sold nationwide, according to a company press release, and consumers are being urged not to eat the children’s favorites.
The recall, which includes about 28 million boxes of cereal, follows 20 consumer complaints including five reports of nausea and vomiting, according to the Associated Press.
The potential for serious health problems due to the unexplained “waxy” smell are not likely, the company said, but the cereal could cause nausea and diarrhea, they warned.
The recall covers boxes of cereal with the letters “KN” after the “better if used by” date, and boxes with “KM” by the date are not included in the recall, Kellogg’s says.
