Default Need ideas for 2nd grader "gift"

My son is in 2nd grade this year. Instead of doing like a $5 gift exchange, they are drawing names and then have to MAKE a gift for that person. To be honest, I'd rather purchase a cheap gift because I'm not very creative. LOL Any ideas on what kind of gift he could make that another child would actually like/use? I'm not even sure if it would be for a boy or girl yet.

Go to Michaels or AC Moore and they sell those little $1. or $2. Christimas foam kits that a child can make an ornament. Have your child make the ornament (really easy!!!) and present it with maybe a couple of homemade cookies.
hav fun
