Default Does anyone have a kIrby sweeper?

I let a door to door saleman talk me in to buying a Kirby sweeper and then I checked it out online. I have read all these reviews from unhappy customers (although most of them were about the salespeople and not necessarily the vacuum.) I really would like to hear some nice things about my new sweeper!! Do any of you have one?
Thanks

I used to have a Kirby. I gave it away when I moved. I liked the waxing part on the Kirby. I had 4 large bedrooms and Hallway with wooden floors and it did a great job on them(waxing and buffing). I have all carpet now so would have no use for it.

I have never actually owned one, but I hear thay last a lifetime and do nice work. I don't care for the door to door stuff though. A few months ago, I had a Kirby Salesman actually PUSh his way in my house. I was alone and very uncomfortable about it!
I might have bought it if he wasn't so aggresive!

I have owned 3 different Kirby's (not my choice) and will never buy or own one again. my cheap Dirt Devil has by far outperformed the kirby. The Kirbys always lost a lot of power after the first year of use.
I did volunteer work at a resale shop and the cleaner that was donated the most was Kirby.

Thanks for the info. I was afraid I got talked into something. I should have done the research first. I just really don't love my Dyson and the Kirby really did pick up a lot more when he demonstrated it. I should know by now that expensive doesn't always mean good!! I guess I will consider it a learning experience - I don't allow any more door to door salesmen in!!

Default Kirby vacumn

My husband and I bought one back in the 70's. He was a machinist and he was very impressed with how it was made.It lasted and lasted. It was still working when we moved in 1986 but it became too heavy for me to use because of back problems.
It is a quality machine.
