ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford Thunder of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) and General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today that they would host Media Day 2007 on Saturday, February 17 in partnership with the Chicago Bandits.
The free, open to the public event will take place at The Max (4750 Vernon Ave., McCook, Ill. 60525) and will begin with a press conference at 10 a.m. During the press conference players and front office personnel from both clubs will discuss the upcoming season, as well as the new in-state rivalry. Immediately following the press conference with the media, fans will have the unique opportunity to participate in a one-hour question and answer session with the players.
At 1 p.m. members of both teams, as well as members of the DePaul University softball team will provide a free two and a half hour clinic. Youth of all ages are encouraged to register for the free clinic by contacting the Bandits office at (877) 722-6348. All youth registering for the clinic will receive a free prize courtesy of the Thunder and Bandits.
Players scheduled to appear from the Thunder are De De Justice, Cat Osterman, Mackenzie Vandergeest, Kim Wendland and Kristen Zaleski. Bandits players scheduled to appear are Jennie Finch, Vicky Galindo, Krista Jessup, Colleen Kilduff, Jaime Southern and Nicole Trimboli.
During the entire event both teams will be selling merchandise at a discounted rate, as well as tickets. Season tickets for the Thunder will also be available for a discounted rate.
