Just got this email from the nice folks at PETSTYLE.
Dear PetStyle® Community Member:
As the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) continues its investigation into the broadening pet health scare, new findings have emerged that make it clear that the human food supply chain could be negatively affected, along with the pet food supply.
Two new critical pieces of information were released this week. First, more foods have been added to the Menu Foods recall list because they were produced at the same time as the tainted food, creating a possibility of cross-contamination. For more information and a complete list of recalled foods, view this link.
Second, in addition to the expanded recall list, the FDA also announced that tainted wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate used in recalled pet food was also used to produce animal feed for poultry and swine. The FDA and USDA believe the likelihood of becoming ill after eating chicken or swine that were fed the contaminated products is very low. For more information from the FDA, view this link.
As always, PetStyle will continue to monitor the news to keep our Community up to the minute. Please go to
