Ranch Ribs and Sauerkraut

6 boneless country-style pork spareribs

Salt and pepper to taste

2 (32-ounce) jars sauerkraut

1 large onion, chopped

1 large apple, chopped

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 (14-ounce) can chicken broth

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place ribs in large roaster. Season with salt and pepper.

Bake for 15 minutes or until browned; pour off drippings.

Reduce oven temperature to 250 degrees.

Pour sauerkraut with juices over ribs. Add onion, apple, brown sugar and broth. Cover roaster tightly with cooking foil.

Bake for 3 to 4 hours.

Serve with mashed potatoes and fruit salad.
