Default Why No Pain, No Gain May Not Be True

No pain. No gain.
This is perhaps the mostwell-known fitness adage. Truth is,
soreness can be expected when youíre starting a new exercise
regimen or using muscles that are not normally stressed. That said,
pain is different for everyone and should never be ignored. A general
rule: If you are uncomfortable while doing an exercise, but the pain subsides soon after you stop, you are likely exerting the right amount
of energy. If the pain increases after you stop an exercise and is
intense enough to limit your normal activities, youíre probably
overdoing it.
