NYC-Help speech research at Columbia University and earn $30
Earn $30 for 2-3 hours and help us understand different pronunciations of English speech sounds. We are looking for reliable monolingual English-speaking adults (ages 18-55), born & raised in the NY regional area in a monolingual American English speaking household, with no history of speech or language therapy, and normal hearing. Please also answer the following in your email: 1. Where were you born? 2. Where have you lived during your lifetime? 3. What language(s) did you HEAR & SPEAK in your home? 4. Do you speak a foreign language? 5. What foreign language did you take in school? 6. Have you studied/lived abroad (how long)?
If we are able to include you in the study we will contact you for an appointment. The study will take place at Teachers College, Columbia University, 525 West 120th Street (between Broadway & Amsterdam). It is expected that it will take you 2-3 hours to complete the task and you will be compensated with a total of $30 for your participation.
