I have a 6 year old Compaq Presario with dial-up. I wanted to get DSL, but they don't bring it out here and don't know when or if they will.

I designed/built my PC about 5 years ago just to see if I could do it. Here I am 5 years later and still doing well with only 1 upgrade. I purchased a flat monitor for my holiday present to me!!! I have cable and love it because I can get to MBB quickly every day

I bought myself a new Dell computer in April and we have DSL through Qwest, our phone company.

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. I bought it about 1 1/2 years ago. Hubby has an old Toshiba laptop, that was given to him. But it still works fine. We, too, live in the boonies! We have dial-up and we all await the day that we can move into this century and get something faster! lol Cable service comes about a mile from us, but they haven't made the move to come here.

Technically I have a Dell Dimension 4100, however, it has all been pretty much upgraded at one point or another. Pentium III, 996MHz, 384 of RAM, XP Professional, 40GB and I use AT&T/SBC Yahoo! DSL.

Really, I'm not into fancy as long as it's fast enough for me to do my jobs. However last night after posting it decided it wanted to retire so I might be buying a new one tonight since it costs less to buy new than to upgrade and repair. I am on using dial-up right now, just struggling to halfway catch up on my work.
