HIGHLIGHTS:
Pre-Conference Institutes: October 8th 2009 - Offering 15 preconference institutes that provide in-depth education and discussion about topics such as: preventing teen dating violence, responding to violence in Indian country, domestic violence and disaster response, innovative models for reproductive health and home visitation programs, new research directions, creating core competencies for domestic violence education and more!

Main Conference: October 9-10th - The Conference features more than 65 workshops, 5 plenary sessions, and keynote presentations by playwright, performer and activist, Eve Ensler; community organizer/social justice activist, Barbara Major; and Carmen Nevarez, MD, MPH, President-Elect, American Public Health Association, just to name a few.

Volunteer opportunities:
The FVPF has organized two volunteer opportunities over two days—October 7th and October 11th—to give back to the New Orleans community impacted by the recent devastating hurricanes.
 Wednesday, October 7th- Volunteer with the St. Bernard Project, whose mission is to remove barriers for families who wish to move back into their homes in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana.
 Sunday, October 11th - Volunteer with HandsOn New Orleans, a nonprofit organization helping to inspire and motivate people to meet critical community needs by encouraging active citizenship through meaningful service
