Hubby has had this in the frig for a long time. He has been "feeding" it this week and we just had wonderful sourdough pancakes for breakfast.
"Remember to save a small piece of the starter: You can put it in the refrigerator for several days, then refresh it again as above and use it to make another loaf. A good starter will serve you for years to come!"

Thanks Mary! I love this starter. I remember my grandma would feed her yeast every week and we would all go borrow a starter off of hers when we needed it. It is the best bread and a sin for those low carbers out there!
