Booooo, this has been a very strange morning! I woke
to the sound of something clanking at the cats' food
dish outside, looked out the window and see TWO huge
St. Bernard dogs that have inhaled the food that was there
and cornered one of my cat's, Sandy, on the window ledge!
So I hurried to the laundry room door to see what
I could do and the two dogs start bark-woofing at
me, so I couldn't get out to rescue him at first. Someone
must have reported them running loose,
since there was a Sheriff's car in the parking lot, and he
yelled at the dogs, who then went his way long enough
for me to get Sandy inside. I saw the dogs go next
door to the collision shop, so I brought Sandy in to get
him calmed down and out of the rain. A short time later
I heard some noise outside and the dogs were back and
barking at a Dog Warden's truck driver. I think he shot
something at one of them and one of the dogs yelped.
I'm not sure what it was; hopefully a tranquilizer or
something! The dogs ran back behind our buildings and
the Warden's truck went next door again and joined
another truck. I think they must have caught them, since
it's been quiet since then. I can only hope that my
Mittens is out back and safe and dry somewhere in
the soybean field! I haven't seen her yet today.
