Starting November 1, 2013, Amazon will be collecting sales tax from residents of Massachusetts as a result of an agreement reached between the online retailer and state officials, reports The Wall Street Journal. Currently, sales tax is added for Amazon purchases in eight states, and several more states — including New Jersey and Virginia — will be joining Massachusetts in doing the same next year.
