Coconut Treasure Macadamia Nut Cookies
COCONUT TREASURE MACADAMIA NUT COOKIES
Chocolate and coconut lovers unite! Bake up this tasty combination and you'll please the whole family! Prep. time: 15 minutes
Serves: makes about 3-1/2 dozen
Cooking time: 10
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt3/4 cup packed light brown sugar1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened1/2 cup vegetable shortening1/2 cup granulated sugar2 teaspoons vanilla extract1 large egg1 pkg. (12 oz.) Toasted Coconut NESTLÉ TREASURES, coarsely chopped1 jar (7.5 oz.) macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
Directions
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, butter, shortening, granulated sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until combined. Add egg; beat until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Gently stir in Treasures and nuts. Drop dough by heaping tablespoon 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.
BAKE for 9 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
LITTLE KITCHEN HELPER HINTS
The kids can "chop" the candy and nuts by sealing them in a plastic food storage bag, then pounding them with a rolling pin.
