G'morning, y'all and happy VOTING DAY!
I now start work at 6:30 a.m. and don't get off 'till 5:00. . .live about 45 minutes from my polling place. State law says employees get 2 hours to vote if they start work within 3 hrs after polls open or leave work within 3 hours of polls closing. My employer said I wouldn't get time off to vote, because the law was written for people away from their polling place. WHAAAAAAAAAAAT? Wouldn't those people vote absentee???
I am NOT a happy camper!
This means I will get to the polls in the dark, within an hour of them closing to stand in a heaven-knows-how-long line. If it weren't THIS YEAR, I wouldn't go to the trouble!
