Two new critical pieces of information were released this week. Second, in addition to the expanded recall list, the FDA also announced that tainted wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate used in recalled pet food was also used to produce animal feed for poultry and swine. The FDA and USDA believe the likelihood of becoming ill after eating chicken or swine that were fed the contaminated products is very low. For more information from the FDA,
