Coolicon Anyone seen MARCH OF THE PENGUINS?

I didn't know anything about penguins before this movie. I was exhausted after it was over...speechless. I was throughly captivated. It won the Oscar for best documentary.

What did you think?

I thought it was great! My 11-year-old said she didn't understand why I'd want to pay to see something we could just watch on Discovery Channel. I told her now she knows how I felt when we went to see the Sponge Bob movie....

We purchased it from our On Demand cable program and thought it was an awesome movie. I ended up watching it myself because it is a little bit too advanced for my four-year-old.

It was a bit on the long side but it is a movie that you learn alot from.

My children are younger, but totally were enthralled. As the 2 younger ones got restless, I went and got eggs from the fridge and made them stand there as long as they could. They got a better grasp on what those male penguines had to go through. We all cheered when we heard the news last night.

Default Penguins

I loved this movie. The only problem I had was that I went by myself and I didn't have anyone to say "Wow" or "How did they get that picture?"

Smile Yeah, how did they get some of those shots?

I was wondering too about how they managed to get all those
shots of what penquins do. Must have used time lapse equipment or something so as not to disturb them but still get great shots to put
together the film.

Remember the movie "Gorrillas in the Mist"? That was another one
that made me wonder how they did that. But someone told me those
were trained gorillas in that movie.

Wowmarker

The photograghers filmed for a year. Some shots during the credits showed the penguins coming right up to them...they were curious. I just can't imagine the living conditions for the crew.

Also, I just can't quit thinking about the penquins life and this film. Amazing!!!
