Simple Pound Cake
SIMPLE POUND CAKE~

-1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature
-3 cups sugar
-6 eggs, at room temperature
-4 cups all-purpose flour
-1 cup whole or 2% milk
-1 tablespoon vanilla extract
-2 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Generously grease & flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
Place the butter & sugar in the bowl of a mixer fitted with a
paddle & beat until smooth & creamy. Add the eggs, one at a
time, beating well & scraping down the bowl before each
addition. Add 2 cups of the flour & beat well. Scrape down the
sides of the bowl & add the milk and vanilla, continuing to

Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Transfer to the oven & bake until the cake pulls away from the
sides of the pan & a tester comes out clean, about 1 hour.
Cool for 20 minutes in the pan & then invert on a rack.
Cool to room temperature & cut into 12 to 16 pieces.
