I hope someone reads this; I am freaking out right now. I sent a buyer a valuable Hull Vase, and he claims it arrived broken. In shock, I contacted eBay and they told me to file a claim with USPS. Now this guy wants his $$ back cuz he said it was "insufficent packaging" and his first message was "just as I thought, it arrived broken" Why did he buy it if he thought it would arrive broken!!!

Have any of you girls that sell on eBay encountered something like this??? I'm not a dealer or anything, just a very poor Mom........

Yes Val I learned the hard way. Did you require insurance? That protects YOU and the buyer has to take the item to USPS and file a claim.

If you didn't I asked for a digital photo of the damage and if damaged refunded the money. A good rating was more important than a few bucks at that point. Sometimes they say they can't or don't know how to post a photo. I refunded anyway. I learned quickly after getting burned a few times.

Also, I learned to pack. My breakables could be thrown around and dropped and survive in all the bubble wrap and cushioning I put in the box. Make sure the item is packed in the box tight. I know bubble wrap costs money if you haven't saved any from online shopping but again it is worth it. I also used the sturdy FREE USPS Priority Mail boxes for shipping which also lets you know an item has been delivered at no extra charge.

Sometimes buyers would ask if I would ship another way and I said NO and that this works best for me.
