I've had the pro foodsaver model for years. Bought mine in Canada when the exchange rate was good, plus a $30 rebate. Foodsaver just came out with the Pro2. Very good company! They have recipes & other ideas on their web-site.
Anyway, I bought mine from Mike's cannery in Canada.
My sister lives in CO. I told her that because of the altitude that she should buy the Pro model, too. Now I think most of the food savers will work at any altitude. She bought her's from a catalog with the $30 rebate. I think I paid about $150 for mine; retail back then was $299.
Anyway, Karen, great product, great price, great company, and I might just get one for the old man. I pack his food, but he needs a food sealer at work. I think Tilia makes the best, although Rival came out with the removal tray first.
I'll check it out.
PS with the discount I'd get the next model up! You can go to Tilia's web-site to see side-by-side comparisons and/or product info.
