NASA seeks parents of kids born on 1/19/1996 to include in New Horizons Kids Club to be a Pluto Pal as part of the New Horizons Mission to Pluto & the Kuiper Belt
Was your child born on January 19, 1996? if so, NASA would like to possibly include them in their New Horizons Kids Club to help commemorate the New Horizons mission to Pluto & the Kuiper belt. The spacefcraft took off already but watching children view the blastoff got one of the directors thinking and he had the idea of following children born on Jan 19th as the mission proceeds. They seem to have plenty of the younger kids but need kids born on Jan 19th 1996 to take part. Was your little Astronaut born on that day? Want to be part of the club and have your kid featured as a Pluto Pal? Contact them!
It's a great idea - they'll check in with the two sets of kids once a year and compare where they are in their lives with where the New Horizons craft is. byt the time the younger kids are in the 4th grade and the older kids are halfway thru college, the craft will have arrived at Pluto! This is not part of the Send your Name to Pluto project
but is an offshoot of it.
Each kid gets a personal photo album charting their growth and progress up on the Pluto pals page - wowee, huh? Is your child born to be a Pluto Pal?
