THE BLACKBERRY PINK CURVE CONTEST
ELIGIBILITY: Open only to permanent, legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands and all other US territories) who have reached the age of majority at the time of entry in the state in which they reside (19 or older in AL and NE, 18 or older in all other states) at the time of entry.
HOW TO ENTER: Beginning 9:00am Eastern Time ("ET") on September 20, 2008 and
ending 11:59pm ET on October 31, 2008 (the "Entry Period"), enter by following the on-screen entry instructions. On the entry page, fill in all necessary fields including first and last names, entrant’s valid email address, and postal address, and
submit a short essay of 250 words or less entitled "How do you Pink outside the box?" (“Essay”). Entries must be received by 11:59pm ET on October 31, 2008.
Limit one (1) entry per valid email address or person or household as determined by name and unique email address for a maximum of one (1) entry for the entire Entry Period. Multiple entries received from any unique email address or person or household
after the first entry received will be void.
Essay must be on the topic of how entrant expresses her/his own powerful personal style as inspired by the new pink BlackBerry Curve smartphone. Essay must be original (that is, written only by you and shall not contain any third party intellectual property), typed legibly in the English language, and
no more than 250 words in length.
JUDGING: On or about November 25, 2008, one (1) Grand Prize winner will be
determined from among all eligible entries received during the Entry Period by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsors (“Judges”). Decisions of Sponsors and Judges are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Contest. Winning is subject to verification of eligibility.
Each entry will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Appropriateness to theme (25 points),
Creativity (15 points), and
Quality of writing (10 points),
(“Judging Criteria”) out of total 50 points. In the event of a tie, the prize will be awarded to the entry with the highest score on the element of Appropriateness to theme.
PRIZE: There will be one (1) Grand Prize awarded, consisting of: a three (3) day, two (2) night trip for two (2) to New York City to have lunch with iVillage parenting and style expert, Laura Bennett (“Trip”) (Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) US $7,250). Trip includes: Round trip coach class air transportation for winner and one (1) guest (“Guest”) from the airport nearest the winner’s residence; two (2) nights hotel accommodations
(standard room, double occupancy) as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion;lunch at a restaurant in New York City for winner, Guest and Laura Bennett (restaurant to be determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion) (“Lunch”); shopping expedition for winner and Guest with Laura Bennett (subject to restrictions as described below) (“Shopping Expedition”); a two thousand five hundred dollar (US $2,500) gift card for winner only; and two (2) BlackBerry Pink Curve smartphones (“Smartphones”), one (1) each, for winner and Guest) (Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) US $500). Total ARV of
Grand Prize: ten thousand dollars (US $10,250).
