FBI sweep rescues 49 youth

The FBI reports that it joined with the Department of Justice, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and law enforcement partners across the country for a three-day sweep in October aimed at getting child victims of prostitution off the streets and into protective services. It resulted in the arrest of 73 pimps, disruption of 12 large-scale prostitution operations, and the rescue of 49 youth age 13 to 17.

I watched a show on this the other night...so incredibly sad. The pimps brainwash these kids so that they don't believe that they are victims and won't give up their pimps. Sometimes the cops had to arrest and hold a youth several times before they convinced them to stay off of the street. Some of them never leave...

Glad to know these actions were taken to help these kids..Also to rid these areas of vermin..

the tough part will be keeping kids off the street.......most of them are runaways and have no where to go......not to many people will mentor a prostitute......it's very sad
