0sign0050 Gifts Ten Year Old Boy

I pulled a few tags off of the Salvation Army tree and one of them is for a 10 year old boy. In his spot for gifts someone entered "Educational Toys".

Does anyone on the board have a 10 year old boy they are buying holiday gifts for? I'm a bit out of touch, grandson is 6 - youngest boy is 15. I'd like to get the kid something he'd really like. I never buy the SA tag kids things like mp3 players because I have no idea if they have access to a computer for downloading.

Any ideas would be helpful. The other tags were specific and no problem.

Thanks everyone. Happy shopping.

I have a son who is 9 and he is all about anything electronic but if educational is the direction you are going for thats a little harder.. those kinds of items can be expensive too.. here are a few things my son has on his wish list for this year...

Lego - Star Wars
Magnext
Pixos
K'Nex

Good luck!

Thanks guys.

I considered the "Lego - Star Wars, Magnext, Pixos, K'Nex" but I'm never sure if these kids are with smaller kids and the parts won't get put away properly - you know what I mean? I don't want to be responsible for something like that. I always figure when an adult puts down 'educational toys' on a kid's wish list when the kid is older than pre-school age, the child didn't really have a lot of imput.

I'll look over the sites you mentioned Krissy.

What is anyone buying for their ten year old boy? (educational or not)?

I have a 10 year old boy. He is very bright (loves chess, reading) but very typical for his age. He loves Pokemon, Ben Ten, Legos, etc. On his Christmas list this year (I asked him for his top 3 requests) is a Ben 10 Watch, Ben 10 Changing Chamber, and a game for his DS. I think if he had more wishes it would include some Pokemon cards. He also likes DVD's from the old MacGYver series and the Voyagers series (and old series that just came out on DVD- educational but fun).
