I think that is fantastic Amy and I think Julie's suggestion is a good one. Weight Watchers is known for their healthy menus....good luck and keep all of us posted.

My only advice to you is drink lots of water, it helps keep your appetite in check and don't keep certain foods in the house. I'm a salty chip freak...I can eat a whole bag of ruffles, lol! So I only pick them up once every 4 to 6 weeks. We keep pretzels and other low fat snacks so I can graze on healthy treats. Hubby makes from scratch oatmeal, raisin and orange peel cookies every week...this way I can have some sweets and be getting fiber at the same time. There are a lot of healthy and delicious substitutions you can make so that you won't feel hungry or deprived!

If you want to try Weight Watchers, here is a link that will give you 25% off their Weight Watchers 3 month savings plan.

I like to snack, too. My theory is, if it's not in the house, you can't eat it. So I try not to buy stuff that I know will get me in trouble.

Good Luck Amy and they say the first step is deciding to do it. Weight watchers is a great source for support and i found that having someone give me guidelines as to the what and how much made it easier. Drinking water is good, keeping the junk out is good, unless you have a teenager who says your starving them.. speechless Don't totally deprive yourself and most important if you slip don't be hard on yourself. We're all here rooting for you

Amy, I'll do it with you. I have been trying to diet ever since having my son a few months ago. I would love to have a partner. Let me know. We can do it. I need to lose 20 lbs.

Kelly, that would be wonderful!!! I said I would like to lose 35, but 20 would be great. I went on a cruise and had a metabolism check and they are the ones who said I should lose 35 lbs, That would put me smaller than I was in high school though, so lets both shoot for 20 for starters, keep me posted and I will stay on you as well! Good luck to you! (P.S., the baby did this to me as well, but mine is a year and a half - I have been putting this off for a while!)

I have been considering Weight watchers for awhile so maybe now is the time to actually do it. I was doing pretty good and joined Curves. I loved the exercise and felt great until I tore a ligament in my knee and my physical therapist told me I shouldn't go back. Of course with the pain in my knee and limited physical movement, I put back on the ten pounds I had lost.
Has anyone else gone to Curves?? I really did like it.

GOOD LUCK, AMY AND KELLY.

Chain the frig door shut if you have to. No kidding, it worked for a friend of mine. Her hubby would chain it shut when he left for work and take the key with him...now that's real love. She lost all the weight she planned on and then some.

But you have to find diversions to fill your time. Go window shopping, take the baby and go for a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, join the Y if
there is one in your area and enroll your little one in swim class which is available all year round, or go to the park for play time.

What ever you do don't watch any TV channels with commercials cuz those ads for foods will drive you crazy LOL.

I have been walking about 4 miles a day. i have a treadmill downstairs but i'm going to physical therapy because i have bad knees and they said the treadmill is bad because it makes me walk a certain way and walking on the street is better because i can control how i move my knees. So I guess I won't be nibbling on the chocolate chip cookies i just made or the fudge I'm in the process of making now oh well.
