GM's 2012 Sales Growth Only 2.5%

President Barack Obama was on the campaign trail, at least as late as this July, claiming that $50-billion-bailed-out General Motors (GM) was back - as the globe’s top car seller.

Romney Closes in Minnesota

The last time Minnesota cast its electoral votes for a Republican running for President was 1972. Even Ronald Reagan failed to win the state in both back-to-back landslide elections. It has elected Republicans to the occasional state-wide office, but for President, it is a deep indigo blue. Except, perhaps, this year. A new poll released this morning by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune finds the race essentially tied. Obama holds a slim 3-point lead but, at 47% support, is below the critical 50% threshold.

Wisconsin Bishop: Voting Democrat Puts Soul in Jeopardy

In a courageous and remarkable letter to his parishioners, Bishop David Ricken, the leader of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, has called for the rejection of political parties who violate the tenets of the Catholic Church.

Poll: Military Supports Romney 3-1

The battle-hardened veterans of the military favor Mitt Romney over Barack Obama by a huge margin, 66% to 22%, according to an October poll conducted by the Military Times -- and the two issues most important to the voters were the economy and the character of the candidate. 66% of respondents said that either the economy or the character of the candidate was the deciding issue.

Old Is New: Glossy 'MIttZine' Insert Included In Battleground State Sunday Newspapers

Readers of Sunday newspapers in the key swing states of Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida, and Virginia will see a glossy, 12-page color magazine--or "MittZine"--insert that highlights Mitt Romney's personal side, including how he once helped save a co-worker's daughter who was kidnapped. The insert profiles Paul Ryan as well.

Poll: Ohio Toss-Up

Yet another poll has shown the presidential race in Ohio tied, with President Barack Obama dropping below the crucial 50 percent mark. The latest Akron Beacon Journal/Ohio Newspaper Organization poll shows the race in a 49%-49% tie, with Republican Mitt Romney erasing the 51%-46% lead Obama enjoyed as of late September.

Despite Evidence, Dems and MSM Hype Obama Early Vote, Ground Game

This week, mainstream media and liberal outlets -- from the New York Times to Politico to the Huffington Post -- have tried to build up their last firewall for the Obama campaign. The media is hyping the Obama campaign's indomitable ground game in swing states that will bank enough early votes for Obama to propel him to victory.

The October Surprise and the November Election

Republicans need to be ready for this, and ready with a response. After all it, was the Reaganites who popularized the phrase “October Surprise” in 1980--when it wasn’t needed. And so now, in 2012, when it might well be needed, they need a plan for a dog-wagging “late hit” in 2012. That is, if something big happens in the next few days, they need to provide the sort of context that Sen. Portman provided on the Iran-negotiations story. And they should start now.

Voter ID Opponents Display Ignorance of Provisional Ballots

In Illinois, if someone challenges your vote and then that challenge is voted on and accepted by a majority of election judges at the polling place, then you may cast a provisional ballot, which gives you two full days after the election to produce two forms of ID, neither of which needs to be a photo ID and only one of which needs to show your name and address.

The Real 'War on Women,' Courtesy of ObamaCare

Gasping for straws, desperate Obama supporters continue to try to draw on the “war on women” canard, even with a tawdry video that uses sex to excite young women into voting for Barack Obama, if only for the free birth control promised in ObamaCare’s HHS mandate.
