Planned Parenthood Head Urges GOP to Dump Pro-Life Base

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards has advice for Republicans after their big defeat on Election Day -- to abandon their pro-life base. Following an election campaign in which the taxpayer-funded organization spent $15 million tearing down Republican candidates who vowed to cut off its federal funding, Richards now says she is reaching out to pro-choice Republicans.

Republican Study Committee: We Will Be 'Conservative Backbone' in Congress

After House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) told ABC News Thursday that Obamacare was now the "law of the land" and Republicans should compromise with Democrats to pass comprehensive immigration reform, conservatives can expect the House Republican Study Committee (RSC) -- led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) -- to fight for more influence over the Republican party.

'Tsunami' of Regulations Expected After Obama Reelection

President Barack Obama's administration deliberately held off implementing burdensome regulations that favored environmentalists, labor unions, and dealt with Obamacare in the month leading up to the election because they would be politically unpopular.

Thought of the Day: Pocahontas Goes to Washington

For all her blather about understanding and representing the “little person”, this is a woman who operates in her own elitist cocoon, having “rigged the system” to her advantage, and now, patronizingly, declaims that she (and government) are best able to decide what should and should not be done when it comes to protecting people from themselves. Perhaps that is what Massachusetts wanted. I would be embarrassed.

Obama: No Deal Without Tax Hikes

The lines are now set for the battle over the fiscal cliff. The fiscal cliff, which is a combination of expiring lower tax rates and automatic cuts to government spending, largely focused on the military, is set to cripple our economy come January 2013.

CBO Report: Tax Hikes Will Slow--But Not Kill--Growth

On Thursday, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report that said letting the Bush tax cuts expire for those individuals making more than $200,000 and couples making more than $250,000 would not kill economic growth. The CBO also concluded that extending the Bush tax cuts for all income levels would allow the economy to grow at a slightly faster pace.
