My suggestion, although not online, is to check your local discount clothing stores. I got both of my prom dresses at Filene's Basement/Marshalls for under $50. They were probably last season's, but who knew it.

Default prom dress

Have you checked local dress shops. I was looking for something nice and formal for a party and stopped by a local, independent dress shop not expecting to find much in my price range a found a lovely beaded dress for $150 then asked about a discount and she gave me an additional $20 off. Watch out for beaded gowns though, they are heavy.

I about chocked when my sons girlfriend got her dress for $650. Is that just goofy or what?

Default Possible Idea

I have an idea for you. You can find really nice worn once dresses at resale shops in your area. You can find one that is too long and have the extra material used from hemming to enhance the bust. The cost of some tailors are cheaper than a brand new dress.

Smile Possible dress?

Hi,

Was just reading through your thread and the various posts and thought I'd reply as well. I'm currently selling some dresses for a friend on Ebay. Here's a link to the size 4--the maker is Citrine--they make very stylish and modern dresses. Don't know if it's too "old" for an 18 year old. It's on auction now...also has a buy it now price.

If she likes the dress, we can negotiate a fair price for you. I bet I can talk my friend into giving you a discount.

Figured it wouldn't hurt to throw this dress into the hat.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll find something she loves!
