There are still kind strangers in this world!
I was in Fashion Bug, trying on some clothes, when there was a knock on the fitting room door and one of the sales girls asking if I had a light gold colored car, I hesitantly said, "yes....", knowing I wasn't going to be told good news. A man came into the store and said he watched a pick up truck back into the front end of it, driver's side, then just drive off. Before coming into the store to find out whose car it was, he followed to truck to the Meijer store next door, and took a picture of the plate with his cell phone camera, then came back to the store to find the owner of the car, which was me of course.
I was very thankful that he went to the trouble to get that plate number off that truck for me, he was truly a good samaritan! I called the sheriff's dept., and he gave me his phone number in case the sheriff's deputy wanted to talk to him about it.
I waited for what seemed like for over for the sheriff's dept; they looked at my car and then had me follow them to Meijer while they looked for the truck, but the person had left by then. I had a report made anyway, and stopped by State Farm; was told I am completely covered since I was legally parked and it was not my fault.
Then I stopped by the collision center for an estimate; $1467. The upper and lower grill and headlamp assembly have to be replaced, the bumper fixed, the headlamps re-aimed, and some paintwork done. I'm dropping off the car on Wednesday and I'll get it back on Friday.
This was my first brand new car, so it made me sad to see that damage. But I am so thankful for that stranger that saw it happen, and took the time to get the plate number on that truck for me. Because of him, I had the proof I needed that I was not at fault and my insurance will completely cover the damage. It makes me feel good that there are people in this world that want to see the right thing done, even for people they don't know.

So glad you will get everything taken care of! I think the good samaritans are few and far between, but I'm so glad one was there for you. I'm sorry this even had to happen to you, but it does seem to have a happy ending.

That truly IS a wonderful story! So many people are unwilling to take the time or make the effort (or risk) to get involved that, when they do, it just makes us feel good all over and reassures us of man's sometimes innate goodness.

I just wrote a letter to the editior of our paper about the man that helped me, to thank him; all I know of him is his first name.
