Karen's Famous Sangria

The Best Sangria Recipe

One of my favorite summertime inactivities is sipping sangria while sitting by the pool with a book or a magazine. Of course, this isn’t something I do daily, but on a hot Saturday or Sunday afternoon, it sure is relaxing!

I usually make a batch when I have the ladies over for bunco. It is such a hit, I always find myself making a seconds or even a thirds!

If you try my recipe, let me know what you think. If you have your own sangria recipe, please share!

Karen’s Famous Sangria

1 bottle of Merlot (you can go cheap on this!)
1.5 cups of Sprite
1.5 cups of Orange Juice (I prefer no pulp)
1/2 cup of Brandy
1/4 cup of white sugar
2 TBS Triple Sec
2 TBS Grenadine
2 TBS Lemon Juice
2 TBS Lime Juice
2 cups of Chopped Fruit (apples, grapes, strawberries, peaches, nectarines – choose 2 or 3 that are in season)

Mix all ingredients and chill a few hours or overnight. Serve cold.

I am sure that your recipe is really good, but if you don’t want to have to go to too go to all the work of measuring and cutting up fruit, Finest Call Sangria mixes can’t be beat. They are amazing and it is a quick two parts wine to one part mix recipe. Check out thier website http://www.finestcall.com/products_sangria.html
Each bottle of mix is $5.00 and all you need to add is wine (white wine for the white Sangria and red wine for the red Sangria). These really are two great tasting mixes!

I was at Trader Joe’s today and they didn’t have sangria (they have a bottle that’s good enough) and I remembered that you posted a recipe so I picked up some Two Buck Chuck. Let’s just say I’m enjoying sipping sangria right now. Thank you, My Bargain Buddy!
