Wonton Smores

Wonton Smores

Here’s a new twist on the classic campground favorite! Fill uncooked wontons with Nutella and marshmallow creme then fry in oil. Dry on paper towels, let cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.

They were so yummy, I couldn’t keep up with the demand. After 3 batches, I finally told my kids if they wanted more, I would cook them, but they would have to stuff them.

The wonton on the left would have been much easier to “stuff” if Nutella came in a squeeze bottle!

      Kids asked for a repeat performance tonight. We usually eat dinner around 7 or 7:30, so dessert is around 8:30 or 9. :)

    I USE A PLASTIC GLAD BAG TO STUFF MY JALEPNOS MAYBE THIS WOULD WORK FOR YOU WITH THE NUTELLA!  GOOD LUCK <3

        I do that, too, with frosting sometimes. A trick I picked up as a kid when my mom was big into making homemade cakes. :)

    Omg that is so unhealthy. It has no nutrients and is downright poisonpus. I would never eat that nor feed it to children.

    mmmmmm…..looks good.  Everything in moderation.
    Karen….next time use a decorator bag with a medium tip.  Would make for easier filling.

    I guess I just care about my health and those of children… sorry.  I thought nowadays people were a little more careful about heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cavities and that stuff and teaching their kids healthy eating habits. This dessert seems to go beyond ordinary dessert. Most have SOME nutrients as well as sugar. But this is a combination that is quite rare. I don’t even think it looks good. I love chocolate and all, but fried in oil! Wow. Vegetable oil I suppose. Topped off with fried marshmallow-flavored chemicals. Most kids do actually like things like fruit and they don’t have to be taught that harming themselves is a reward.

      Karen isn’t saying she feeds this to her kids 7 days a week, 3 times a day.  Believe it or not, “eater,” a lot of us eat really well 90% of the time (which are a “zig” days), then once in awhile we treat ourselves with a “zag” day.  This recipe would be for one of those times.  Life would be pretty boring without eating delicious “I know it’s bad for me but it tastes SOOOO good” foods.

    i noticed in your picture you used kraft marshmallow creme out east we use marshmallow fluff.  you can make fudge with this too !!!!!!!!!!  yours look delish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gonna have to try this! Just an FYI…there was a show on tv last year about deep fried foods. If you use clean oil the food soaks up less oil, so not quite as many calories. Oh….and I’m a baker and send sweet treats to work with my husband…..it puts his co-workers in much better moods! lol
