It seems like my kids summer vacations get shorter and shorter every year. They have to go back in just 3 weeks! When I was a kid, we didn't start back up until after Labor Day. I don't see how it is better for the school budget to start them so early. The A/C bills alone are probably enough to offset any other savings they are trying to make.
