My mom recently moved into a senior community. She has been making great efforts to meet her neighbors and make new friends. Yesterday, while she was at the laundry facility, she struck up a conversation with a few people who were there. They chatted for a bit, and when my mom’s wash was done, she put her clothes in a dryer and stepped out to get her mail. When she came back, she was shocked to see one of her bras hanging on the washing machine control panel! She must have missed pulling it out earlier.
She was totally mortified, but had to claim it, since everyone there probably knew it was from her load. I imagine her face turned a dozen shades of red when she grabbed it and quickly stuffed it into her laundry basket. I couldn’t help but laugh when she told me this story. It made me realize where I get my “Why do things like this always happen to me?” from. (reference previous blog post)
